Christianity: Pauline and non-Pauline Epistles

Yep, you heard me… there are several of New Testament epistles that were written by Paul, but there are also a few that were attributed to Paul that do not fit several markers of Paul’s style of writing, use of grammar, and historicity… according to current theological studies.

GASP!!!

Yeah, that might give you a shock depending on your specific brand/flavor of Christianity.

In the New Testament, the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John appear first in order followed by Acts then further followed by a string of the Pauline epistles. Are you aware that many theologians agree that Paul’s letters were written beginning around 10 years after the crucifixion of Jesus?

GASP!!!

The gospels were written decades later but placed in the New Testament canon prior to Paul’s epistles.

So, without further ado, below is a list delineating the current agreement among many theologians regarding which of Paul’s letters were written by Paul himself and which letters were written by pseudo-Paul(s). Following the list are links for resources for further reading and study.
